Dr. Chris Baysingar

Dr. Chris Baysingar, DVM

Dr. Chris Baysingar graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Prior to veterinary school, she earned a B.A. from Monmouth College and an M.S. from Brigham Young University. She joined Vet Care Associates in 2023.

Originally from Galesburg, Illinois, Dr. Baysingar most enjoys helping animals feel better. Her professional interests include senior pets, fur-bearing exotics, and soft tissue surgery. After practicing veterinary medicine in four different states, she is happy to be back home in Illinois.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Baysingar enjoys therapy dog work and seeing the smiles and happiness dogs bring to so many people. Over the years, she has shared her life with 27 dogs, including 13 rescued Pomeranians, as well as many guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, and canaries. Before entering veterinary school, she also served as a missionary in South America for 18 months.

Dr. Brandi Welch

Dr. Brandi Welch graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Prior to veterinary school, she earned an Associate of Science from Black Hawk East in 2018 and a Bachelor of Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2020. She joined Vet Care Associates in 2024.

Originally from Aledo, Illinois, Dr. Brandi enjoys all aspects of mixed animal medicine and appreciates the unique challenges each day brings. She especially values building strong relationships with owners and farmers while working alongside them through both difficult and rewarding moments. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, client education, and large animal medicine.

Dr. Brandi is the daughter of Jim and Kerri Welch and has four older siblings, two nephews, and three nieces. She and her fiancé, Garrett Moeller, share their home with an Australian Shepherd named Nakota, a small cow-calf herd of Angus and Maine Anjou cattle, and a senior Quarter Horse named Blaze. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys farming, gardening, volunteering with 4-H, and spending time with family and friends.
